CHCDIS020 Work effectively in disability support describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a disability support work context. The unit covers meeting job requirements, complying with organisational requirements and working in a disability sector context.
This Learner Guide describes how to identify and discuss job requirements and recognise tasks outside of your role. It then explains how to work within organisational requirements and a disability support context. Lastly, it details how to monitor stress levels and use self-care strategies when working with people receiving support.
The learning content builds knowledge and understanding by using: • Step-by-step instructions on recognising the scope of your job role • Straightforward explanations of how to identify tasks from individualised plans • Learning Checkpoints at the end of each topic to build knowledge of meeting privacy and confidentiality requirements • A range of examples and case studies that demonstrate how to take a person-centred approach when working in a disability support work context
