CHCDIS016 Develop and promote positive person-centred behaviour supports describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to identify behaviours of concern and to develop and promote positive behaviour supports as part of an individualised behaviour support plan for a person with disability, using a person-centred approach.
This Learner Guide describes how to identify and work with the person to assess behaviours of concern. The material then outlines how to develop positive behaviour support responses using a person-centred approach. Lastly, it explains how to monitor and review the person’s individualised behaviour support plan.
The learning content builds knowledge and understanding by using: • Step-by-step instructions on applying person-centred, strengths-based behavioural support • Straightforward explanations of how to develop strategies and interventions that support people to manage their own behaviour • Learning Checkpoints at the end of each topic to reinforce knowledge of legal and ethical considerations for working with people with disability • A range of examples and case studies that demonstrate how to identify behaviours of concern and develop, implement, monitor and review positive behaviour support strategies
