CHCCCS040 Support independence and wellbeing describes the skills and knowledge required to provide individualised services in ways that support independence, as well as physical and emotional wellbeing.
This Learner Guide explains how to respect differences within individuals and avoid imposing personal values and attitudes on others. It demonstrates practical ways that encourage individuals to build and strengthen their independence in order to develop healthy habits that promote physical wellbeing. Finally, the material explains how to support the social, emotional and psychological aspects of wellbeing, how to identify variations, and how to recognise and report indicators of possible abuse or neglect.
The learning content builds knowledge and understanding by using: • Step-by-step instructions for supporting the independence of diverse individuals • Straightforward explanations of how to promote their physical and emotional wellbeing • Learning Checkpoints at the end of each topic to build and apply understanding of the practice of supporting individuals • A range of examples and case studies that illustrate how to support and enhance independence and wellbeing
