CHCAGE010 Implement interventions with older people to reduce risk describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to work collaboratively with older people and their family, carer or others identified by the person to implement interventions in the context of an individualised plan to reduce risk.
This Learner Guide describes how to assist the person and their family or carer to prepare for a risk assessment. It then explains how to contribute to the identification of risks and how to implement and coordinate feedback on risk minimisation strategies.
The learning content builds knowledge and understanding by using: • Step-by-step instructions on how to assist with assessing risks and implementing risk minimisation strategies • Straightforward explanations of coordinating and reporting feedback • Learning Checkpoints at the end of each topic to reinforce major risk areas for older people • A range of examples and case studies that demonstrate how to work and communicate with older people in a way that promotes respect and empowerment
