CHCAGE009 Provide services for older people describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge to provide services to an older person and to support their family, carer or others identified by the person. It involves following and contributing to an established individualised plan.
This Learner Guide describes how to deliver services according to an individualised plan. It then details how to liaise and negotiate with appropriate personnel and service providers, as well as how to support family, carer or others identified by the person. Finally, the material explains how to coordinate feedback between the older person, family, carer and service provider.
The learning content builds knowledge and understanding by using: • Step-by-step instructions on providing services according to an individualised plan • Straightforward explanations of how to support family, carer or others identified by the person • Learning Checkpoints at the end of each topic that reinforce the legal and ethical considerations of working with older people • A range of examples and case studies that demonstrate the role and function of professionals in the provision of services to older people
