This Learner Guide explains how to set up areas for different kinds of play, which includes incorporating real, natural and recycled materials and offering unhurried opportunities for play activities. It then explains how to use play as a means of supporting children’s agency and how to recognise opportunities for spontaneous learning. Finally, the material shows how to evaluate play opportunities and how to reflect on personal pedagogical practice as an effective educator.
