TAFE Directors Australia Conference 2024: TAFE NSW Institute of Applied Technology Digital (IAT-D)

The team at Aspire Learning Resources had an inspiring visit to the TAFE NSW Institute of Applied Technology Digital (IAT-D) at Meadowbank today! The Institute of Applied Technology Digital (IAT-D) is a technology-focused institute located at TAFE NSW Meadowbank prioritising innovation in education. In partnership with TAFE NSW, Microsoft, Macquarie University and the University of Technology Sydney, the IAT-D creates and offers cutting-edge training that quickly responds to industry demands.

We explored their cutting-edge facilities, including the impressive 'Anytown' project, offering immersive experiences for students to respond to real-life cyber attack simulations. We also had the pleasure of hearing from IAT-D’s Senior Manager, Sally Browner, who shared insights into the Institute's focus on high-demand fields, such as Big Data, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Software Development and Artificial Intelligence.

The future of work increasingly requires complex problem solving grounded in both theoretical and practical learning. The IAT brings together the knowledge expertise of academia and the practical demands of industry to address the current and future needs of Australia's increasingly dynamic and digitised economy. It was a great experience witnessing these learning innovations first hand.
