Mr John Nucifora (Chair- 2023)

John Nucifora joined Aspire's Board in June 2021. John has over 35 years’ experience as a trade union official with the ASU. He has national responsibility for coordinating the compliance and governance requirements of the ASU. Prior to this John had extensive experience in advocacy initially appearing before the Australian Industrial Relations Commission and later the Fair Work Commissions in relation to awards, enterprise bargaining, demarcation disputes and union rules.

He was also a member of the ACTU Work Health & Safety and Workers Compensation Committee for over 20 years. His practical application of legal training to settling industrial relations disputes and advancing the collective interests of ASU members has given him an appreciation of the social and economic value of not-for-profit organisations.
